Today Qualcomm and Adobe announced that the BREW Mobile Platform will be integrated with Adobe Flash technology and new platform features. You can read the full press release here. This is fantastic news for both BREW and Flash developers particularly in the large BREW market in the US.
In Europe specifically BREW is available on UIOne based handsets, notably the Skype phone on the 3 network in the UK. So the platform is largely based in the US and Asia though the use of Flash technology on millions of new devices can only strengthen the adoption across platforms and screens.
For developers this means that there are opportunities to leverage this as a data point when dealing with your customers, and to reach into the US market in the future. Naturally there will be aggregators and other friendly developers that can help you to deliver content to BREW.
What a challenge, “iPhone has raised the bar, now lets see what the Flash community see what they can do,” said Andrew Gilbert from Qualcomm.”

For those of you who are developing or are interested in creating Flash Lite content for Sony Ericsson devices you can now find more resources on the Sony Ericsson Flash Lite developer center. In the past their Flash Lite information was grouped under the multimedia section but given more and more of their devices support Flash Lite and the recent announcement around Project Capuchin they have created a new dedicated Flash Lite site.
You can expect more information about Project Capuchin soon on their site and the Adobe mobile and devices developer center.

Yesterday in Taiwan Chunghwa Telecom launched their new Channel Me service, powered by Flash Cast. The service launches with some fantastic looking channels, some of which you can play with here (press the yellow button).
Channels include news, weather, sports, travel, dining out amongst others. The initial seven channels demonstrate that experiences really matter on mobile devices.
Developers in Taiwan and beyond now have the opportunity to build channels for this service. I can’t wait to see this service take off and new channels and devices being added over the coming months. At launch the service is supported on 20 Series 60 and Windows Mobile devices including the stunning new HTC Diamond.
