Now available on MAC

I’ve finally had enough of my Lenovo T60p, after no less than six re-images, £100’s worth of lost music and weeks relying on my two year old laptop.

People have been preaching to me about Macbook for sometime and I was very aware that they were never shouting at their screens or shifting between laptops. Yesterday it arrived, a Macbook Pro 15″, 2 x 2.4 gigamuhertz, 2GB of RAM and running Leopard. Ok Ok, it also came to me with VMWare running windows and Bootcamp also runnning windows, just in case.

I have to admit, not once i my life have I touched a Mac, not one little finger. Though that was for good reason, as an engineer I needed windows for the tools that I used back then, most of which only ran on windows.

Having been playing with this thing for a day I simply cannot believe that I put myself through so much trauma over the last year. This thing is LIGHTNING fast and the build quality is nothing short of a dream.

Next time you get the chance I thoroughly recommend getting a MacbookPro, even if you are just using it to run windows.

got one my self about a week ago after finally putting the Toshiba away for the last time. And it’s everything I could of hoped of and more. Every time I fire it up it has more class than any PC based laptop I’ve ever used :)
    Gratz on getting one.

Indeed, if only PC Suite and MS Office 2007 could be supported then I’d be all set for a full move!

I run both Windows, Mac, and even a bit of Linux … in addition to Symbian! etc :)
My PC setup is a dual 19″ monitor with Alienware, etc.

I also have a sweet black MacBook I’ve had now for a year …

Previously, I’ve had a 15″ and 17″ macbook pro’s … I just kept getting smaller. Next thing you know, I’ll be working on an iPhone. :) or better still on a 12″ Mac tablet (a resurgence of Apple rumors is abound on that one!).

Anyways … Mark, check out: http://coolosxapps.net/ … it’s on my daily stops nowawdays. Lots of goodies. Not that you want to slow down your new fresh install … but with a Mac is MUCH LESS AFFECTED than a Windoze-machine … it’s nice in that regard! :)
FYI: Novamedia also makes a transfer tool called “fonelink” which you may want to look at … last time I looked at it, was so-so, but might have gotten better. I don’t do a lot of mobile workflow on the laptop right now, being that CS3 is a bit faster within my desktop XP config! But here’s the link:

Also, check out nokia multimedia transfer:

… Obviously, there are looking to get a sync going on Mac, and this might be the first step!

Given they already have launched their music service, makes sense, no? :)
Lastly, in regards to MS Office 2007 … sadly, it’s just 2003 with Mac. ;( But the iLife keeps getting better & better …

I’m still learning keynote for presentations …

People often say Mac is just “better”.

In regards to hardware and service I found this definiately to be true … however, in regards to software and OS, I still find Window-isq, problems crop up.

Blue screen’s have just been replaced by “spinning balls of death”, etc

All in all, though, I think there’s a good reason why many are switching to Mac’s these days.

They *are* a bit better, even if they *are* overpriced … and since Microsoft doesn’t seem to be doing much to convince people otherwise in the PC realm … (aka Vista is crap), kudos to Apple.

    P.S.

Welcome to the club. Ping me if you have any questions or would like to share stuff.

You already was a nice guy, but now that you are using VMWare you rock! Period. Let’s hope you got that MBP without Leopard on it….
